Unfinished Business; An Autobiography

Unfinished Business; an Autobiography

What’s done is done, but not forgotten.
Our days together were fruitful, however,
We became dangerously besotted.
But honey,
Don’t fret, for over time our wounds will heal.
And others will learn to live, including us.
We’ll be back on top of the world before you know it,
Kelsey,
I’m sorry for dragging you through hell and back.
I’m sorry that for now, we can no longer be.
Just please,
Don’t find someone else, who may possess what I lack
Because even though you are my world,
I’ll never love you enough to set you free…

I will always love you.

RiverWalk

I could walk two moons and swim three rivers,
And still, the love I feel for you never fails,
It never quivers.
No matter the gale,
Thou shall not shiver.

I come with my heart on my sleeve.
You try to rake it off as I pass, I let you.
Your skinny wooden claws,
disregard my flaws.
So naturally still, I'm humbled to have met you.

Comfy while I tend to succumb,
To your silent whispers,
As you tend to my wounds.
Knowing that forever and some,
You'll answer my whimpers,
with an open heart and a forgiving temper.

Buried under your damp leaves will be my eternal tomb.
Your boughs my haven.
Your soul, my womb.

All My Love To...

Kelsey,

It's hard to write a poem,
expressing my love for you.
It's difficult to find a way to craft my words.
Into phrases that haven't been used before.

Times for us have been tough.

The road has been littered with broken glass and contorted clumps of debris.
The shattered, scattered remains of friendships and promises.
Lay broken and tossed astray in our wake.

We are creating our world from scratch,
As we continue down our love-stricken war-path.
We dodge doubt like the words themselves were shot from cannons.
And our parents,
Don't even get me started.

They're approval would be most welcomed.
But we don't need it.
All we need is each other.

So, Kelsey.
Will you be my valentine?
Forever mine.
Untill the end of time,
itself.

Let me be your Mr. Right,
our names will be up in lights.
Through sickness and through health.

I'll stay by your side.
Day by day you'll be, long in my arms,
and we'll have it that way.
No matter the weather, no matter the fight.
Night by night.

All my love to us.

First Day in..

Will it be the same for two?
Or three,
or four?
Why don't we just add on one more.
Five out of fifty may walk through the same door.

Four out of those five are clueless souls,
Traveling in fear of the consequences of stopping.

Three out of those four won't know what it's like.
To have a good high school experience with all the toppings.

Two out of that trio,
Will meet each other some day.
And the tides will change,
In an astonishing way.

From this day on in, I'm known as 1 of that pair.
I found a friend in need of a friend,
Now we are rescued from despair.

My roots have found hard enough soil to anchor,
And my leaves have found the confidence to set sail.

I'll set off into the dusk with my new found valor,
And glory to this day that I prevailed.
